Hi, I’m Karen

Journalist, health promoter, teacher,
and one of The Mars 100.

I’m here to bring mindful living, meditation and self-care
to the people on planet Earth.

What is wellness, anyway?

True wellness comes from being in tune with ourselves, with the air we breathe, the food we eat, the Earth, the sun, the stars, and the energy field that surrounds us each day.

It comes from calming our minds, releasing stress, and focusing on now.

It also comes from breaking free of the control of giant corporations that make giant profits by addicting us to sugar, fat, salt, chemical preservatives, technology, bad news, and the need to consume “stuff”.

We can make a different choice.

It’s as simple as loving ourselves, caring for ourselves as a spiritual practice, and feeling deep appreciation for our lives.

Ever notice how this mind-set comes naturally to some people?
They seem to be born that way. For others, it can be a quantum leap.

Let’s take that leap together.

Shift your perspective. Know that what you focus on expands.
When you focus on true wellness, you’ll create more of it in your life.

Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Really.

Workshops and classes are just a click away.

I speak to groups of all kinds about mindful living in this stressed-out world of ours. Check out this short video from The Green Benefits Expo in Burlington, Canada.

The “Take it in!” List

How many times a day do we make lists?  The grocery list, the "to do" list... and on it goes.  One of the best lists you can make for yourself - in order to take care of you -  is the "Take it in!" List. What is it?  That's simple.  It's a list of all the things...

Remember Marlo Thomas?  Most baby boomers would know her as the star of the 1960's TV sitcom, "That Girl".  She's also the daughter of legendary comedian Danny Thomas, and is married to talk show host Phil Donahue. Here's my favourite thing about Marlo Thomas.  She...

Are you ever in such a rush with the day-to-day of life that you lose touch with you?  Something feels off.  You're just not in alignment.  You need to centre yourself. Sure, it sounds good on paper.   But how do you do it in real life? Three words, my friends. ...

Testimonials

A few years ago, I had the pleasure of watching Karen speak at an awards banquet for the first time. Her dynamic style, message and delivery really impressed me and the audience. So, when researching speakers for my company’s Benefits Expo, I immediately thought of Karen. Part of our Expo’s focus was to covey new ideas about mindfulness and well-being practices that we could share with our clients… and Karen didn’t disappoint! She took the time to create an engaging and stimulating 50-minute presentation that all our attendees thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend contacting Karen to speak at your next event, or even to host a more intimate gathering of peers. Karen knows how to transform relevant subject matter into an experience that is both personal and enlightening.

Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra is an easy practice. Karen Cumming’s calming voice guided me with simple instructions to help with breath awareness and body scanning. I found her voice connected me to the practice and kept my mind in the present moment. I was very impressed with the simplicity – so much so that I practice it at home.

At the end of the day, Divine Sleep® relaxes the body and the mind, so that sleep is more sound. My husband enjoys this practice at the end of the day as well.
