Check it out for yourself. Do a Twitter search for “Vatican – News” and you’ll find it. Want to send the Pope a message? He’s waiting @news_va_en. Grab a seat, and I’ll tell you more… (More…)
Hard to believe, my friends, but yes, they’re calling it “Weinergate”. In the latest sordid example of politicans and Social Media gone wild, married US Congressman Anthony Weiner has admitted to sending lewd pictures of himself on Twitter to a series of women… women he swears he has neither met nor had an intimate relationship with. Oh boy. How many times does it bear repeating? If you wouldn’t want to see it on a billboard high above the biggest intersection in your hometown, you shouldn’t – repeat shouldn’t – tweet it. And that goes DOUBLE for politicians!!! (More…)

You heard right. According to the Egyptian newspaper “Al-Ahram” her full name is “Facebook Jamal Ibrahim”. (More…)

As in, “Where were you when the Berlin wall came down?”, or “Where were you when Elvis died?” It was that big. After years of what many of us had no idea was such brutal tyranny, the people of Egypt finally broke free. As the TV cameras rolled, the protesters in Cairo erupted into a tidal wave of jubilation. Hosni Mubarak had stepped down as President. What really got me thinking, though, is the fact that this is truly the first revolution in history that was fuelled and followed on Social Media. (More…)

If you really, truly think about, it makes perfect sense. Sharing your vacation plans online is just plain stupid. And now, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre has officially agreed. The federal agency has come out with a warning to all of us who surf through cyberspace and sail the high seas of social media… (More…)

As soon as I heard the news, I knew that Social Media had truly given the planet a push in a stunning new direction. Why? Let’s put the kettle on, open a bag of crisps and have a word, shall we?

You guessed it. Last Friday, I was first in line at my local Telus store for the latest in state-of-the-art high tech: The iPhone 4. And I promise you, I haven’t been disappointed. New to the world of smart phones? Let’s hit the “App” button for “iPhone 4 tutorials” and take her for a ride… (More…)
